Sound waves traveling through the tight grain of walnut creates a clear full voice. The added advantage to this hardwood is durability (outdoor use). With a double flute you play the melody on one side and the other side provides the drone in the root note of the flute - it sounds like two people are playing. Double flutes have a double mouthpiece so you can switch from a double flute to a single flute instantly without adjustments. Our style is unique and generates more amplitude (volume) and the drone plays the low and high octaves easily.

This flute is extremely versatile, the left drone plays the root note of "A", the center plays the melody & the right drone has the option of playing one of three notes. This is controlled by which fingering holes are covered with the leather ties that are provided. The flute has three mouthpieces so it can be played single, double or triple. These instruments are recommended for experienced flute players.
