The Signature Wolf Pack Double "F#" flute is a wonderful combination of sculptural art and a sweet sounding dynamic instrument. The multi-layered fetishes of the wolves howling at the moon, which is represented by the mother of pearl inlays, is the combined inspiration of Odell and Jan Looking Wolf.
Blending the 1-inch bore with an air passage that reduces turbulence, gives this flute an exceptional voice on both the resonant low notes and the bright and clear high notes. Very little breath is needed to play the flute allowing easy control over the notes and playing techniques. It has strong amplitude and is very responsive giving the player an intimate feel for the notes being played.
The Wolf Pack flute is made from aromatic cedar which is an exceptional tonal wood, giving the flute voice a fine balance between clarity and warmth. The flute is accurately tuned to the key of "F#" minor and can also play the relative major scale of "A" major, making it simple to accompany other instruments.
All of our Double Flutes are as easy to play as the Single Flutes. There are two side by side mouthpiece holes so the flute can easily be played as a single or a double flute. The melody is played on the side with the six fingering holes and the drone side plays the note of "F#" in two octaves, giving the impression that two people are playing together. The modification described below provides more drone note options. Our A-frame style is unique and generates good amplitude (volume) and clearly harmonizes all of the notes. Being a special addition, we have committed to making only one hundred of this Wolf Pack flute.
The Wolf Pack is 22 inches long x 7.1/4 inches wide x 3.1/8 inches high (56 cm x 18 cm x 8 cm).
