The Triple "A" Flute - key of "A" minor is a Triple Flute and is a very versatile instrument but is more challenging to play than the Double Flute.

The left side drone plays the root note of "A", the center flute has the 6-holes and plays the melody and the right side drone has three fingering holes that are covered with leather ties. This gives the option of which note(s) are played as the secondary drone. The flute has three mouthpieces so it can be played single, double or triple. Because these flutes take more breath and breath control they are recommended for experienced flute players. Our style is unique and generates good amplitude (volume) and the drone sides plays the low and high octaves easily.

The Triple "A" Flute is a good accompaniment flute for the Contra Bass "A" flute and the Pocket Flute in the key of "A".

The flute is tuned in the key of "A" minor and can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale in the key of "C".
It is a 6-hole flute, we cover the 3rd hole from the top of the flute (known as the 6th hole) with a leather tie, giving the option to use it as a 6-hole or a 5-hole flute.

This flute is 19 inches long x 13 inches wide (48 cm long x 33 cm wide).

Crafted from Spanish cedar, a soft wood, the flute is sealed with non-toxic oils which give it a warm, resonant and full voice. What may look like a check line is actually a natural grain line in the wood of your flute. Spanish cedar has naturally-occurring dark lines in the grain which are often mistaken for cracks. If your flute is crafted out of Spanish cedar, please watch this video to help you distinguish between check lines and wood grain.

Each flute (excluding our Pocket Flute & Eagle Bone Ocarina) automatically includes Odell's FREE 'How-To-Play' Instructional Materials which comes with: printed instructional booklet with fingering charts as well as an instructional DVD with both Odell's Beginner and Intermediate tutorial videos.
