Signature Double Merlin - high C - Aromatic Cedar

Our Signature Double Merlin flute in the key of high 'C' minor is handcrafted in southern Arizona from domestic, sustainable Aromatic Cedar wood. Aromatic Cedar is consider a premier tonal wood because it creates an ideal musical voice that is balanced with clear high notes and warm full low notes.

The Double Merlin's engravings are inlaid with Turquoise cabochons, The fetish and body design are a stylized motif of wings in flight. The body of the flute is meticulously shaped, sanded from a single piece of wood, that is finished with several coats of non-toxic oils that seal the wood and enhance the musical voice of the flute.

Double flutes are as easy to play as the single flutes, they take just a little bit more breath. One flute plays the melody on the side with the fingering holes and the other flute (without fingering holes) provides the drone which can play the low as well as the high octave of the particular key; allowing it to magically sound like two people are playing.

Our double flutes have two mouthpieces so you can easily switch back and forth playing them as a double flute or a single flute. This unique A-Frame body style helps to generate good amplitude.

This flute is the highest octave we make in the Pentatonic key of 'C' minor, and it can also be played in the Relative Major Diatonic scale in the key of 'E'.

The flute is approximately 16 inches (41 cm) long with an A-Frame width that about 7-inches (18 cm).
