The Sparrow Hawk - key of "A" minor is one of our most popular flutes. It is made from aromatic cedar and inlaid with turquoise cabochons which add to the natural beauty of the flute and enhance the functional art quality of the instrument.
It is easy to play and is ideal for first time flute players and those with smaller hands. Made from domestic aromatic cedar, a softwood, the flute is sealed with non-toxic oils which give it a warm, resonant and full voice.
The Sparrow Hawk flute is a good accompaniment flute for the Contra Bass "A" flute and the Pocket Flute in the key of "A". It is deeper in tone then the White Tail Hawk Flute "B".
The flute is tuned in the key of "A" minor and can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale in the key of "C".
This is a 6-hole flute, we cover the 3rd hole from the top of the flute (known as the 6th hole) with a leather tie, giving the option to use it as a 6-hole or a 5-hole flute.
This wooden flute is 19 inches (48 cm) long.
