Our Double Kestrel Signature Flute in the key of high 'E' minor is handcrafted from domestic Aromatic Cedar wood, a premier tonal wood that creates an ideal musical voice that is a balance between clarity on the high notes, and warm fullness on the low notes.

The Kestrel's flute engravings are inlaid with Turquoise cabochons, The fetish and body design are a stylized motif of bird wings with the Turquoise stones representing birds in flight.  The body of the flute is meticulously shaped, sanded, and finished with several coats of non-toxic Tung Oil.

Our double flutes have two mouthpieces so you can easily switch back and forth playing them as a double flute or a single flute. This unique A-Frame body style helps to generate good amplitude.  For playing tips see the Double and Triple section on our Center For Instruction.

Double flutes are as easy to play as the single flutes, they take just a little bit more breath. One flute plays the melody on the side with the fingering holes and the other flute (without fingering holes) provides the drone which can play the low as well as the high octave of the particular key; allowing it magically sound like two people are playing.

The High Spirits Signature Series Flutes utilize a unique airflow design that provides exceptional responsiveness and player control, superior amplification, and makes them ideal for a wide range of musical styles.
