Merlin Double Flute - high C - Walnut

Our Double Merlin flute in the key of high 'C' minor is handcrafted in southern Arizona from domestic, sustainable Walnut wood.

Made from domestic Walnut, which is a hardwood, this flute is sealed with non-toxic oils that give it a clear, bright voice - especially on the high notes. An added advantage to this hardwood is durability for outdoor use such as hiking and backpacking.

Double flutes are as easy to play as the single flutes, they take just a little bit more breath. One flute plays the melody on the side with the fingering holes and the other flute (without fingering holes) provides the drone which can play the low as well as the high octave of the particular key; allowing it to magically sound like two people are playing.

Our double flutes have two mouthpieces so you can easily switch back and forth playing them as a double flute or a single flute. This unique A-Frame body style helps to generate good amplitude.

This flute is the highest octave we make in the Pentatonic key of 'C' minor, and it can also be played in the Relative Major Diatonic scale in the key of 'E'.
