The Signature Series Hummingbird flute is a refined design with a sweet full voice. It is inspired by the thousands of hummingbirds that migrate through our home town of Patagonia, Arizona every year. Patagonia is an internationally renowned birding destination and the hummingbirds are a popular attraction.
The flute is crafted from aromatic cedar which is a perfectly balanced tonal wood. Its clean, clear high notes are balanced by its warm round low notes. The result is a rich soulful voice.
Being a Signature Series flute, it has an exceptionally brilliant voice and requires very little breath to play it. This feature allows easy control over the notes and playing techniques. It has a strong voice and is extremely responsive, giving the player an intimate connection with each note.
The Humming Bird flute is a functional art piece. We highly recommend displaying it on a flute stand. Not only will this show it off in your home or office, it will inspire you to play more often.
Tuned in the key of "A” minor this flute can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale in the key of "C".
Each Signature flute is hand polished to a fine finish, and completed with several layers of non-toxic oils.
We continually strive to improve our flute designs and to craft instruments that are responsive, have superior tonal quality and exceptional amplitude. In this ongoing quest we developed a new airflow combination that minimizes the amount of turbulence going through the flute. Every High Spirits Signature Series flute utilizes this special airflow design, which gives these flutes exceptional breath control.
Our Signature Series flutes have a broad, balanced voice that equally expresses both warm low notes, and clear high notes. They require very little breath pressure, which allows for better control over the notes, and a wider range of playing styles.
This flute is 20 inches (51 cm) long with a 1-inch (2.5 cm) bore diameter.
