Mariposa is the Spanish word for butterfly. Our Signature Mariposa flute was inspired by our deep respect and appreciation for the beauty and grace found in the natural world. The butterfly also signifies transformation, which the musical voice of our flutes offer to those playing them, to those hearing them, and to the harmonious sounds of the world around us.
This flute is tuned in the key of A minor, this flute can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale in the key of C. It is 20 inches (51 cm) long with a 1-inch (2.5 cm) bore diameter.
Each of our flutes is handcrafted from a single piece of domestic Aromatic Cedar. The body of this flute features Striped Agate stone inlay, and the flute's fetish is decorated with two Gold Lipshell cabochons.
Aromatic Cedar has a fine balance between clarity & warmth in its tone. It creates a special fullness on the low notes & its physical beauty is exceptional. Aromatic Cedar has been used traditionally for decades. Cedar has a range of colors from ginger orange to burgundy red, it can also showcase sap wood which is yellow color in Aromatic Cedar.
For over 30-years we have been crafting flutes from single pieces of Aromatic Cedar and in the process we have become adept at choosing planks with natural characteristics to turn into incredible sounding flutes, including those with many knots in the wood. We are experts at a technique called Turquoise Accent, which fills small cosmetic wood knots in Aromatic Cedar.
Every Signature Flute is designed to be both a musical instrument as well as a piece of beautiful artwork. Our precision tuning insures that each Signature Flute is easily able to meet the requirements of any musician. Our Signature Series flutes utilize a unique airflow design that provides exceptional responsiveness and player control, superior amplification, and makes them ideal for a wide range of musical styles.
Our Preservation Collection reflects our commitment to sustainability, respect for the Earth's natural resources, and the woodworking process. Preservation Collection flutes meet the exact same sound quality standards as all our other flutes at a deep discount! Their difference is that they may have design differences, adaptations, unique woods, limited quantities on one-of-a-kind flutes, slight cosmetic imperfections, minor shaping inconsistencies, which do not detract from the flute's purpose in any way. Each Preservation Collection flute remains a high-quality, American handcrafted, woodwind instrument. As with all of our flutes, we stand by our musical instrument quality reputation, and sound quality is always guaranteed. FINAL SALE | SOUND QUALITY GUARANTEED
