Flute Care
These flutes ask for very little. A little attention and yours will play beautifully for generations.
The Basics
Keep it in a bag or soft cloth, out of direct sunlight, away from heat, cold, and damp. Wood breathes — it just doesn't like surprises.
Oiling
Oil lightly now and then so the wood doesn't dry out. Use any food-safe oil — a salad-bowl oil, or our pick, Howard's Butcher Block Conditioner. Apply sparingly and let it soak in.
Moisture
After playing, tap out the moisture and let it air-dry before storing. A cloth swab on a dowel clears the bore.
Sharing
Passing it between players? Use a disposable flute straw — 3/8" clear vinyl tubing from any hardware store — fresh for each person.

Keep It Singing
A lot of common questions are already answered — you might find what you need in a few clicks.
Flutes are made of a single piece of wood, so small shifts in grain, color, and tone are part of the craft — not a flaw.
