Our Merlin Flute in the musical key of high 'C' minor (440 Hz) is handcrafted from domestic Walnut, which is a hardwood that gives the flute a clear, crisp musical voice especially on the high notes. Our Merlin flute is named after this fierce little falcon (Falco columbarius) a elegant bird of prey found throughout the Northern Hemisphere including across Arizona.

High-tone flutes are a great instrument for playing with other instruments, like in drum circles. Their higher pitch sound let's them stands out amongst many other instruments. 

This flute is tuned to the key of 'C' minor but it can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale, in the key of 'E'. It's length is 16-inches / 40 cm.

This is a six hole flute, which comes with a leather hole cover that can be used to close the third hole from the top (as seen in the picture) to make learning to play very easy. The hole cover can easily be removed.
