Our Spirit Flute Contra Bass in the key of 'A' minor is handcrafted in southern Arizona from Spanish Cedar, a sustainable, domestic softwood that give the flute warm, full musical voice that is deep and resonant. This is the lowest, deepest-toned bass flute that we make.

The tonal voice of this flute is ideal for the melodic rhythms and meditative compositions in the accompaniment of other instruments. This flute is an excellent choice for performances and recording.

Although several other notes are available, this flute is best described as a single octave instrument. This flute is approximately 28-inches (64 cm) long. 

This flute has very large fingering holes and requires significant breath control so we highly recommend it for those with large hands and experienced breath control.

This is a six hole flute. We automatically include a leather hole cover with this flute, which can be used on the third hole from the top of the flute, as seen in the product's images. Covering the third hole from the top makes the flute easier to learn to play. The leather hole cover can easily be untied and removed, giving the flute player the option of playing the instrument as either a five hole flute or a six hole flute.
