Our Spirit Flute 440 Hz Traditional Bass flute in the key of 'E' minor (440 Hz) is handcrafted from Spanish Cedar, a softwood that gives the flute a rich bass voice, warm high notes, and the versatility to be played as a contemplative bass flute or a lead instrument.

The short mouthpiece is convenient for travel, it provides ample back-pressure to accentuate clarity on the higher register notes and minimizes moisture buildup.

The 18.5-inches (47 cm) length makes this one our our shortest bass flutes, which allows for the possibility for those with smaller hands to play this deeper-toned flute.  High Spirit Flutes are sealed with non-toxic oils, which gives them a warm, resonant, and full voice.

The flute is tuned in the key of E minor and includes the relative major key of G.  A good accompaniment flute would be our high-tone Kestrel Flute in the key of E.

This is a six hole flute. We automatically include a leather hole cover with this flute, which can be used on the third hole from the top of the flute, as seen in the product's images. Covering the third hole from the top makes the flute easier to learn to play. The leather hole cover can easily be untied and removed, giving the flute player the option of playing the instrument as either a five hole flute or a six hole flute.
