Odell Borg, founder of High Spirits Flutes created a new video with his friend Lois, all about playing flute together. Filmed in southern Arizona where we handcraft our flutes, this video shares tips and techniques to make playing the Native American Style Flute with others a joy of creativity and connection.

We love hearing how our flutes bring people together through the universal language of music!

If you're in the Tucson Arizona area on April 4 and 5 the 2025 Voyager RV Resort will be holding its annual Southwest Native American Style Flute Festival. This local, homegrown native flute event was established by the Voyager Flute Circle and has become a 'rite of spring' for that Tucson flute playing community.
The festival is small and friendly so it's easy and fun to drop-by and shop the flute and instrument makers there, who are excited to share their craftmanship with you! There will also be musical performances, workshops, food, and a evening concert.
The Voyager Flute Festival is free and open to the public, and takes place from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM both days. Voyager RV Resort is located at: 8701 S. Kolb Rd. in Tucson.
High Spirits Flutes has a vast video library of free how-to-play the native flute tutorials. Spirit Flutes feature a special native flute mechanical design that enables easy playability especially when it comes to Bass tone flutes.
But the key to sucess with all native flutes, and woodwind instruments in general is breath control. Awareness of breath and it's relationsip with the sound of the flutes is the magic link between you and the song of your flute!
Here in these videos pulled from our big, historical video tutorial library on our YouTube channel are two in which Odell (our company's found and also my Dad) goes into detail about tips for playing our Spirits Flute, and how to use Breath Control to advance the musical sound quality of any player.
Thanks for taking time to check us out - our YouTube channel is here for you! And, if there is a topic or a playing technique that you'd like Odell to make a video about, drop us an email at - flutes@highspirits.com - we love hearing from our community!
