Below, we highlight three of our most popular world flutes, each with its own voice, character, and atmosphere.
Our Persian Scale Flute in the key of 'G' is handcrafted from Aromatic Cedar, a wood known for its warm, resonant tone and natural beauty. This flute is tuned to the Persian scale, a mode that offers a deeply expressive and emotional sound.
The Persian scale creates a voice that is exotic, soulful, and full of mystery, making it an excellent choice for players who enjoy improvisation and exploring new tonal landscapes. Whether you are just starting your journey with world flutes or looking to expand your collection, this flute offers a sound that inspires creativity.
Our In Zen Scale Flute in the key of 'A' is tuned to the In Zen pentatonic scale, a scale with roots in Japanese musical traditions. This mode creates a meditative, tranquil voice that is ideal for mindfulness, yoga, sound healing, and personal reflection.
Crafted from sustainable domestic wood, the In Zen Flute has an airy, contemplative tone that invites intuitive playing and simple improvisation. Its five-note scale makes it easy to play, even for beginners, while offering experienced musicians a powerful tool for creating peaceful, calming music.
Our Japanese Scale Spirit Flute in the key of 'A' is handcrafted from Aromatic Cedar and tuned to the Yo scale, one of the core scales in traditional Japanese music. The sound of this flute is evocative and ethereal, making it a wonderful choice for sound healing, meditation, or simply enjoying the beauty of world music.
The Japanese Scale Spirit Flute combines rich tonal warmth with smooth playability, offering both beginners and experienced musicians a reliable and inspiring instrument.

Until recently musical instruments were generally tuned so that the “A” note (of the middle octave on a piano) was tuned to 440 Hertz (Hz) cycles per second, also known as Concert Pitch.
Concert Pitch was established as the musical standard at the beginning of the 20th century but prior to that instruments were tuned to 432 Hz cycles per second.
Slight changes to the tuning frequency of a musical instrument can alter the quality of feeling of the music being created. This tonal difference in frequency is similar to the subtleties of inflection with the human voice, which can project nuanced variation in feeling or expression.
Though the difference frequency is subtle, we highly recommend that instruments tuned to 432 Hz are paired with other instruments because of their unique 432 Hz frequency, they should only be played with other instruments tuned to the 432 Hz frequency for harmonic balance.
Instruments, like crystal singing bowls tuned to 432 Hz are frequently used in sound healing and are thought to offer energy balancing, as the sound waves move flow through the body on a cellular level.
Whether you choose one of our EarthTone flutes tuned to the 432 Hz frequency, or one of our Traditional flutes tuned to 440 Hz, the peace-healing sounds of the flute will recharge your spirit!
In this video High Spirits Flutes found, Odell Borg shares his insights on developing our 432 Hz EarthTone flute collection.
Odell Borg, founder of High Spirits Flutes created a new video with his friend Lois, all about playing flute together. Filmed in southern Arizona where we handcraft our flutes, this video shares tips and techniques to make playing the Native American Style Flute with others a joy of creativity and connection.
