Our Spirit Flute Bass flute in the key 'C' minor (440 Hz) is handcrafted from Spanish Cedar, stained with a red-brown finish, and a design engraving on the mouthpiece plate.

Spanish Cedar is a softwood that provides the flute with a deep, mesmerizing musical tone. This flute is versatile as it can be played as a lead instrument or as a secondary tonal instrument.

The short mouthpiece gives our Spirit Flutes ample back-pressure to accentuate clarity on the higher register notes while minimizing moisture buildup.

The 23.6 inches (60 cm) length of this flute makes this one of our shortest bass flutes. High Spirit Flutes are sealed with non-toxic oils, which gives them a warm, resonant, and full voice.

We highly recommend this flute for experienced woodwind players along with those with large hands due to the overall size of the flute and its large fingering holes.

This is a six hole flute. We automatically include a leather hole cover with this flute, which can be used on the third hole from the top of the flute, as seen in the product's images. Covering the third hole from the top makes the flute easier to learn to play. The leather hole cover can easily be untied and removed, giving the flute player the option of playing the instrument as either a five hole flute or a six hole flute.
