Our Wolf Pack Double Signature Flute in the key of 'G' minor is handcrafted from domestic Aromatic Cedar softwood, a premier tonal wood that creates an ideal balanced musical voice that is both clear on the high notes and warm and full on the low notes.
We love double flutes because of how magical they are in the way that they can sound like two people playing the flute together. All our Signature Series flutes utilize a unique airflow design that provides exceptional responsiveness and player control, superior amplification, which makes them ideal for a wide range of musical styles and players.
Tuned in the key of 'G' minor, this flute can also be played relative major diatonic scale in the key of 'A#'. The flute is 21-inches (53 cm) long and at the widest part it is 7-inches (18 cm).
The Wolf Pack's design motif is inspired by a collaboration between Odell and native musician Jan Looking Wolf. The flute's body is meticulously hand-shaped, finely sanded, hand-finished with non-toxic Tung Oil (which is FDA approved for food contact) that enhance the musical quality and the beauty of the flute's finish.
Our Double Flutes have two mouthpieces so you can easily switch back and forth playing them as a double flute or a single flute. Our unique A-frame body style helps to generate good sound amplification when playing the flute.
Double flutes are as easy to play as the single flutes but they do take a little bit more breath. One side of flute is the melody side (the one with the fingering holes) and the other side of the flute is the drone side of the flute (the one without the fingering holes.) The drone side of the flute has the ability to play the low and high octave of the flute's specific musical key.
This flute also makes a great accompaniment flute for any of our other flutes in the key of “A” minor.
Sound sample note - we are currently working to create a sound sample video for the new Wolf Pack 'G' Double Signature Flute. In the meantime we are sharing the sound sample for the key of 'G' Double Migration Signature flute since both are made from the same wood: Aromatic Cedar, making their musical voice almost identical.
