Our Preservation 2023 classic design Sparrow Hawk flute in the key of "A" minor is one of our all-time most popular flutes. It is made from Aromatic Cedar and inlaid with decorative Turquoise cabochons which add to the natural beauty of the flute and enhance the functional artistic quality of the instrument. 

The key of 'A' is easy to play and ideal for any first time flute player, and here's why has a soothing mid-tone musical voice, its size and length (19 in / 48 cm) make it great for most hand sizes learning to play. The flute is tuned in the key of "A" minor and can also be played in the relative major diatonic scale in the key of "C".

For over 30-years we have been crafting flutes from single pieces of Aromatic Cedar and in the process we have become adept at choosing planks with natural characteristics to turn into incredible sounding flutes. Aromatic Cedar has a range of colors from ginger-orange to burgundy-red, it can also showcase sapwood which is yellow colored wood found in Aromatic Cedar.

This is a six hole flute. We include a leather hole cover (as seen in the product photo) to cover the third hole, which makes it easier to learn to play. The leather hole cover can easily be untied and removed giving the flute player the option of playing the instrument as either a five hole flute or a six hole flute.
